Cycling 200 miles for local Bristol charities

On 5th July 2020 Peter set off from the Clifton suspension bridge at 4am in 55 mph winds to cycle a 200 mile circular route via Taunton and Seaton in Devon and back to Bristol in a day.

Helped by his friend and super - domestique Oli Beckingsale (3 Times Olympic cyclist) they completed the ride in just 12 hours.

Peter who is an Ambassador for 2 charities, The Bristol Sport Foundation and FRANK Water said ‘Because of COVID 19 a lot of the important fundraising events that had been planned had to be cancelled which had dire financial consequences on these important charities. As a keen cyclist I didn’t think anyone would sponsor me to cycle a 60 or 100 miles route so I came up with something a bit more attention grabbing. It seemed to work!.

In total I raised c£4,000 with gift aid. For anyone who would like to sponsor him here’s the link.

And for those of you vaguely interested in his journey here’s a link.
